Maklumat Pasel Adat A Liko

Ako bei terimak jatak email keman pelajar Curtin wak menak study pasel adat a liko. Nyin bei melabau gak ko pasel adat telo a liko pasel belum jegum bergendang.

Mula-mula angai ko terimak email nyin ako rasa was-was kawak buyak kelijah alu bak bei a berminat pasel adat telo tapi bila nyin pesusui nyin liko Dalat jadi ako rasa ako patut menolong nyin. Ubak Liko

Ako ngak memutuskan ako bak menulih semuah posts ko dagen blog ko ih, ubak liko min buyak ko bei muka jatak agei blog dagen ubak Melayu, CRazE MinD. Tapi Melayu Malaya sau jumit kalik buyak pengaruh blogger keman bah Malaya lah gaya ih..:D. Kelalu idak maca blog luin.

Tapi dei hal. Ako akan terus cuba menulih semuah posts ko dagen blog ko wak ih ubak liko. Keman lau ih ako akan cuba menulih semuah pengalaman-pengalaman ko nyat sebagai anik a liko.

Ako suka angai menulih ajau, walaupun mana sau alu sau. Dei hal "Practice Makes Perfect" sui liko putik. Nak singen, pasti akan nyadin lebih dao mun selalu menulih. Haraplah ubak liko ko pun bei betul aluk sau agei beh ih. Ayat-ayat ubak liko ko agei idak angai wak debei rapa betul sau ih.

Balau Information Centre - Is it Possible in Dalat?

Bebayuh

Belum

Bei lah sakai tujuh idea gak ko uno bak tulih atau bak cerita ko dagen blog ih pasel adet telo a liko. Anjel keman Bintulu. Ako pun debei rapa pasti sama ada nyin Anjel wak kenelala ko atau pun a kik tapi ako bak tujuh terima kasih lah gak nyin buyak tujuh idea gak bak cerita dagen ih.

Pasel belum ih ko beilah jumit pengalaman tenabih a lakei belum lian ko agei umit sabei. Ih kira wak percaya a dana sabei buyak lian ien lien debei ngak bei agama. A sui ien "pagan" lah.

Biasa nyin a akan menabih bak sepak. Alu sik alu lah ji bieh a wak buyak tabih ien beh ien. Dah ngak ien, belum ien akan kenilut gak lawei kayo gak lisi sungai. Sama ada gak da'an nyipak, bapir, atau mana-mana ji kayo bei gak lisi sungai.

Lian ko agei umit sabei ako pepela mapun sekul. Jadi mun bei belum gak lisi sungai mesti medut bak pepela segak angai gak dawak belum ien. Bei kawak la lo jipo-jipo ko wak lai wak saji nakal angai suka memad atau mupak belum jegum pela. A nyat selalu angai menepad kak mengacau na'ah buyak singen. Dei taolah ko kala saji buyak singen mun mengacau ien.

Mun bak nilak atang-atang belum ih sebenarnya ukiran. Mun telo pilak gak kedai-kedai kraftangan bei ukiran-ukiran ji belum a liko ih ji jenaja. Ajau ih telo kenah pilak ien sebagai satu bentuk seni a Melanau.

Ien singen ji lah wak bak cerita ko pasel belum. Mun bei ji wak salak, ko nyabik ma'ap lah gak adik kakak. Ako pun generasi muda, ako hanya cerita mengikut ji wak penah dilalui ko. Wak penah den ko as a little Melanau girl wak nyat dagen kapong a Melanau.

Cerita Rakyat

Actually i was looking for a word that explaining "ngasu" in English. Ngasu is an Iban word thats explains about hunting using hunter's dog. But then i found one article or i can say it is a folk tales of one natives from Sabah. It is a Murut folk tale. I want to share this story with you guys and here it is:

A TALE FROM THE PADAS RIVER
(Tenom) ( A Murut Folk Tale )
There was once o lonq house in Kampung Tatamuan beside the river Malalap. It was the tradition of the Murut people, that men had to hunt animals for food as a contribution to society.
There was a young hunter among them who went on a hunting trip with other villagers. He had to leave his family and his pregnant wife behind at the long house.

In those days, a hunting trip usually took many weeks, as they had to poach and wait, or very often penetrate far into the jungle.

During their absence, the village folk discovered a python on the bank of the river. They immediately killed it for food. The remains of the skin were used to make big and small drums.
It had been quite a while since the hunting group had left the village and there was still no sign of their return.

Out of boredom, the villagers decided to hold a feast. Feasting was very common amongst them and it was part of their tradition as well. They began to celebrate with meat from this huge python. They had plenty of food to eat and to share.

Usually light entertainment, such as dancing and singing were performed during such a celebration. This was accompanied by playing the drums which were made from the skin of the snake. However, the moment they hit the drums, the cats and dogs began to fight with each other. Even though they tried, but somehow, the villagers could not stop half way during the celebration. They decided to change to the other drums also made from the snake skin.

This time, the sound of the drums caused an evil sort of spell and the villagers started to fight amongst themselves. There was havoc and death and it was a very sad situation. Some of those who were fortunate enough to be alive, escaped the plundering by hiding in the jungle. It so happened that the young hunter's wife also escaped and a short time later gave birth to a child.

Eventually the hunting party returned and they were remorsely disappointed at such misfortune. They decided to go their separate ways and set up families elsewhere. The young hunter took his wife and child and left the village. After a short while, they arrived at a clearing near a river bank. All of a sudden the hunter's dog caught sight of a Tempadau (wild cow) and chased after it, closely followed by the hunter. By now the hunting dog had caught up with the Tempadau which was wading across the river. Suddenly there was a voice from the top of the hill admonishing them to stop their hunt.

The young man, already frustrated with what had happened back at the village, was in no mood for such a warning. He still followed his hunting dog. A bolt of lightning struck, followed by a thun 'en They have unknowingly trespassed onto holy ground and were immediately turned into stones.

Till today the young man is known as the Batu Balingoi. The Tempadau in the middle of the river is called the Batu Masokoh. The wife and child who followed behind are called the Batu Magibah.
This all happened along the Sungai Pagalan and the stones can still be found there in the river at Tenom.

*This story reminds me of Melanau folk tales that my mum always tell me when i was a child. Not far from my village there is one mangrove swamp area and a small streams. There is a story of one family (mother and two sons) went into this stream looking for a shrimps. I can't remember it clearly but something bad has happen to this family where at the end they turn into a stone. I remember my mum told me the name of that stream is Sg. Balau. By the way, it has a similarity with this folk tales where the family in the Murut story above also turned into stone.

Hmm..interesting isn't it?

No Idea

I have no idea on what should i write in this blog about my Melanau lifestyle anymore. I am away from home and i am surrounded by different races and cultures now. I only know one person from Dalat and lucky we still can use our mother tounge to communicate. By that way perhaps my Melanau language will not influence by other language.

When i am in other places i have to adapt to this new environment. I eat what people here eat and actually not much difference but i can't eat my favourite food--inut, bulu, umai. I can make umai but i am not really good in making one. The other things is that i don't have friends to enjoy these food with me.

I talk with my work mate about our culture. He is Bisaya from Beufort, Sabah. While we share about our background then i realize there are so many similarities. They plant paddy and sago. They live near rivers and they use nipah for house rooftop. He also paddle (using boat) to go to school. It is only our language is different. His language is more similar to Dusun. If i have time, i will plan a visit to their area and hopefully i can see their lifestyle and share here.

Now i can say that i am a Melanau Girl that exploring other cultures and traditions. Maybe out of the main topic that i want to share in this blog but maybe something interesting too. Why? Because at the same time i can compare the differences and similarities of other traditions and cultures with mine...The Melanau People.

Adat A Liko Dana Wak Neliluk

Ajau ih ako dbei gak Sarawak agei. Ngak gak liko a ih mala singen senged bak keman lo inut, pulem, macem-macem alu tan wak pawah bak nak.

Mun ngak gak liko a ih makin agei dibei rapa idak a liko, ubak liko pun debei tetu bak betul angai sau agei. Bukan senaja bak meliluk tapi mun ngak paut debei kerapak mesti bei kawak wak neliluk jumit. Ienlah ko selalu angai telepon pulik kapong migek ko selalu bak kerapak ubak liko jegum tina tama ko serta janik-janik ko.

Bila ko menyenged pasel adat a liko. Kebetulan ajau gak kedau ko kerja bei staff matai buyak strok. Nyin liko Kadazan. Malem ih malem kejian palei (ien sau sebut telo a liko). Lau kejian palei. Ako beilah tutui lien sebiang Rosari tiap abei stat keman lau nyin tenanem lau ien. Ako cuba menyenged balek an tan adat a liko lian a matai. Bei wak senged ko bei wak debei rapa senged tan. Ienlah mun debei tenulih, "documentation" sui liko putik kalik adat a liko dana akan lenyap.

Harapan ako ienlah supaya bei a luk menak kajian secara mendalam pasel adat a liko ih. Mun bei lo adik kakak a liko wak belajer sosiology atau anthropology, daolah bak menak kajian. Publish your work and share with our young generations. It will help our community to remain our own traditions.

Ako menulih gak gi'ih cuma suka-suka singen tapi dagen masa wak sama ako luk bak menulih mana-mana ji wak senenged ko. Bei masa ako akan menulih idak aluk.
