Brief Description of the talk:

The talk encompassing the definintion of dance, objectives and functions of dance as well as Sarawak ethnic dance. En Sharkawi Haji Amit will talk about the philosophy of ethnic dance and the dance movement by comparing between local ethnic dance and modern dance. Sarawak ethnic dances are dances performed and preserved by ethnic groups in Sarawak. Every culture has developed its own means of expression through movement. These dances were part of tribal rituals, designed to be performed at crucial moments in the life of both the individual and the ethnic group.
